i think a pic may help.
The belt on mine goes right to the hob spindle. The "A" gear on the hob spindle is 68T. The B/C gears 84/42 is in the middle, then the workpiece spindle is 72T.
When I loosen the intermediate bracket and unmesh the gears, I can turn the 72T and the workpiece turns. when I turn the 68T the hob turns.
Does this make sense?
