Ok, I know I can't use the gears I have. So last night I took everything apart and put it on the bench with the SB gears and started thinking.
Iy suddenly dawned on my that the Mikron intermediate gear-set is a 2:1 ratio. That coupled with a 16:1 index will automatically give 32:1 to start with.
So to get proper ratio's I just need to change the outboard gears!
Now I just need to make a 2:1 SB intermediate gear-set and shaft to fit and I can bolt it to the carrier. Then I would just need to shim the outer gears to fit the shaft and I should be in business.
