The deburring that needs to be done is after the gear cutting or gear generation but PRIOR to heat treatment and it is for steel gears. The gears are spur, helical, straight and spiral bevel. In a number of cases the functioning of the gear is not affected but the deburring process is tedious and any marks can put customers off though gear parameters are not otherwise affected. Fine pitch gears is where I would like to make the most improvement.
