The customer does not want any burrs when they receive the gears. They handle the heat treat. They also want a nice finish with no gouges. Sanding marks seem to be ok as long as they are not too deep. I gave my people 3 M sanding pads, but they used too much force and started to remove material. I am working with 1117 material.
