Regarding your question about finishing in the R16, yes it can be done without any real problems, other than having blades that have the correct pressure angle , that is , the same number as calculated.
Without tilt and swivel angles , you would end up making rather large headsetting (cone distance changes) and eccentric angle corrections.
The feed cam on fhe R16 has a 2 path cam, rough and finish. The decimal ratio is the same for R16p, 26 gen and 16 hypoid generators. I'll send formula in the morning as I'm not at my office now.
