The route clearance of worm gear is added to the dia of hob cutter. To determine the angle of hob cutter we come up with this formula:
Tan= Lead/PD*3.1428
Thus, it should be remember that while taking the PD of hob the route clearance must be subtracted from OD of hob. I am going to send you the calculations regarding these issues at hand, please check you e-mail ID to have this one.
