KURVEX is an older single indexing method for cutting spiral bevel gears with and without hypoid offset. It uses a standardised tooling, so a wide range of bevel gears can cut with a small number of cutter heads and blades. You have 2 cutters which are sit one in the other, where one have the outer blades and the other the inner blades. It cuts both flanks simultaneously, a so called completing process.
It is wet cutting with HSS, and a low number of blades, so it is not so efficient. It is in use for smaller production numbers. The original producer of machines and tools (in East Germany) is closed.
