I did remove the table and turn it upside down. I haven't removed the nut yet but it appears to be all one piece and has no means of adjustment. It may have been replaced at some time. You have to remember that this machine is old. I think that it may have been used to make gears for the model "T" Fords. I have a republished book called "Gear cutting practice" and it has a date on the cover of 1937. This book has a picture of a Barber Colman #12 and it looks exactly like mine except it has a double overarm. Mine has a single overarm so I figure that mine is even older than that.
Since we have it all torn apart, I have decided to strip all the old paint off of it and give it a nice new paint job. It was painted a horrible yellow color at some time in it's life.
