As far as i can figure out from what you are saying is that you plan on using Shank Hobs on this machine. The machine should have a standard Morse Taper. The #5 taper refers to a Barber Colman taper that only applies to the taper of a Hob, not the taper in the machine itself. Ash Gear should have something there to help you, although i do not see anything in their catalog.
