A multi start worm to my understanding requires a multi start hob for hobbing the mating worm wheel.

By using a fly cutter it seems to me that essentially you are using a single form cutter.
As long as you’re circular pitch & helix or lead is
correct your worm wheel should be correct.
Thats if your form is correct.
I am trying to have the vision of how you are cutting this worm wheel. it must be a tricky setup. Or am I making it to complicated.

I agree with Ron the direction of feed does not matter.

However from your statement radial feed does not work for worm wheels that mate with multi start worms because of the above statement.

The pattern is the proof the worm wheel is correct. by any means of cutting a worm wheel, and that is an exact statement.
