Thank you for your input.
My gear's face width is only .25. To calculate the theoretical bearing contact length one would have to assume things like marking compound layer's thickness, but I don't think we should get into so much complication.

The results are all in tune, but I see no way to derive the small negative cutter angle from the data I have so far. The angle 22deg35min is sure, but it is a sum of the cutter spindle angle and the small negative cutter angle. Having only the sum, I can not calculate the amount of crowning.

I can only hope, that someone with access to the machine will be kind enough to measure the cutter spindle angle, as discussed before.

This information could also be derived from the cutter geometry, but I have no access to such cutters.
