We have this Two Speed Gearbox which is used to drive a Xanthator (alkali cellulose is sulphurised with CS2 to produce xanthate, where the xanthation, i.e. the reaction of alkali-cellulose with carbon disulphide, takes place) in a Viscose Staple Fibre Plant. The operating environment is explosive.

The speed changing is done manually using a gear shifting lever. The customer has decided to go for automation of the complete system. This entails that we are required to modify & automate the manual speed changing arrangement on the existing gearbox at customer’s works site. Power of the Motor (Explosion Proof) driving this gearbox is 15 KW, Input rpm 1000, Output Speed 144 and 35.

On receipt of an response expressing willingness to help, I will Email the General Arrangement drawings of the gearbox to the responder and request him to suggest the simplest and most cost effective solution.

Since this is an URGENT project we would request you to revert ASAP with your expert solution.

Looking forward to the pleasure of hearing from you soon.

warm regards,
