Actually, most running gears have modified
profiles, meaning a modified involute tooth
shape, thinned at the extremes to cause
loading to be in the middle of the tooth and
to control noise. Most modern gear grinders
can make non-standard modifications to the
gear teeth as defined by the user. You must
have some definition of what the modifications
are to the involute and lead.
