Swing Angle can be set by the user to a small angle, such as 0 degrees. This is how the 2A/102 software found here works - by calculating default swing angle values that can be changed. I'm not aware of a situation where it cannot be user-set to small values (or 0) so I would really appreciate someone addressing that question.
I've been told that operators like 0 ( or consistently small ) swing angles since it's one less setting to change at the machine.
This only works in the updated calculation method which allows for user input. The earlier outdated method I believe calculated swing angle and the user (operator) was constrained to use the calculated values.
I hope other users with 2A experience will join in this thread.
