I am trying to cut SPUR GEARS 1 MODULE, 20 DEG PA, 56 TEETH, 4 MM THICKNESS on CNC Gear hobber using Carbide TiN Coated Hobs with zero rake.Component material is Stainless Steel 316 Grade. My problem is that, Cutting is not smooth. Profile finish is poor, pitch error, lead profile errors are out of tolerence limits. I tried cutting using various speed/feed combinations but no improvement. When I cut carbon steel/ alloy steel components under the same conditions I am able to get DIN 6 quality. Can anyone suggest remedy.
