The calculation method allows selection of different cutter numbers based on several factors that are developed by the method. What is/are the machine(s) you plan to use to make the set?

There are demos of the software at this site for selected methods and machines, and work is going on to develop hypoid summaries for 116 machine. The demo will give you an idea of the data that is processed before getting to cutter number selection.

For the novice, it may be a misconception that cutter PA must equal gear/pinion PA (like in shaping and hobbing). This is not true for jobbing methods used to manufacture spiral bevel gearing (unless we're talking large ratio formate gears cut without roll-but that's another story).
