We have a gear 103mm dia with material 16NiCr4 module 3 and when the gear is heattreated the profile drops at the tip by about 20 microns. Normally I have seen the tip drop by around 10 microns and the correction in the cutter is made accordingly. Please help me with the reason for the increased drop of the tip (profile angle in negative by about 20 microns)
