I refer to a Skew gear set as helicals which run on shafts which are usually at 90*. I've seen sets where the driver has a much larger helix angle than the driven. I guess this is so that the driven has less chance of becoming the driver creating a sort of "reverse locking" arrangement, as in a worm set with a small helix angle.
