I want to cut a 14 tooth involute spline on some 303 Stainless shafts 0.612 in. OD, 24/48 pitch, 30 deg. pressure angle, flat root, sliding class 5 fit, as per ANSI B92.1-1970.
I want to mount a shaft in a 3 jaw-chuck on a dividing head and put the cutter onto a 1 inch arbor on a milling machine. I want to buy a single cutter, rather than a whole set of 8 if possible.
Also is there an easy way to inspect the shafts after?
Thanks in advance for any tips anyone may have.
