I always believed the #104 uses a pair of reciprocating blades and the #114 two milling heads. If this is true, then the #114 is Coniflex and will crown the teeth lengthwise, while the #104 would need a guide to do the same. But then again, #104 can make blind teeth, and the tools are much more affordable.

Haven't tried none of them though...
