lead angle correction - worm gear hobbing

Given the hob is oversized, how do you calculate the amount of swivel to set the hob at when cutting a worm gear? Barber Colman's manual for the hobber gave a formula based on the pitch diameter of the hob and the pitch diameter of the worm. I'm not sure how to measure the pitch diamter. I'm guessing in practice the ODs of the hob and worm are used instead of the PD. Any of you set up a hobber for worm gear cutting?
