Dear Sirs,

We are facing problem of teeth wear in Spur Gear sets (O.D. 55 mm, 4 Module, 20 degree P. A., 11 Teeth, 32.2 mm F. W.) used in 40 c.c./rev. Viscose Metering Pumps. We have tried changing the material from AISI 440c to CPM 420V as also to AISI M2 without any result. O.D. 50 mm, 2.5 Module, 18 Teeth Gears are
performing well in AISI M2 for 25 c.c./rev. Metering Pumps under identical duty conditions and process parameters. Could you please tell us if the Gear Design can be modified to avoid wear of gear teeth
resulting in leakage (when idle) and reduction in the quantity dosed per revolution. If yes, what should the modification be. It is important that the quantum of Viscose metered/dosed per revolution should be 40 c.c. accurate. We shall highly appreciate your help in overcoming this problem and hopefully expect to hear from you at an early date.
Thanking you in anticipation, we remain,
With Warm Regards!
