a bit more info on the splines would help as there are many standards, the two most common being BS3550 and ANSI-B92.1.1970(REV1993). in theory the pcd will be correct to what is called for on the drawing every time, its the tooth thickness and its tollerances that prove your pcd to be correct, your customer MUST give you what class, wether they want flat root or fillet and what pressure angle they want the spline cut to.
