Just for clarification, here is the formula for worm lead angle: tan(lead angle) = (Lead) / (pi * pitch dia. of worm), so the actual angle is the
arc tangent of all that. If we reduce PD of the worm, lead angle changes to. If we hold the lead angle constant and reduce the PD, seems to me the operating pressure angle would change because the base circle reduces as well. Sounds right, but I've never actually tried this. Any additonal thoughts?
