Worms are also formed with the Roto-Flo
spline forming process in which the root of the
space of the spline is forced down displacing the
addendum of the spline up from a specifically
controlled pre-roll diameter. While this requires
spline rolling machinery, this is a VERY fast
worm forming process producing no chips with good
compressive strength and surface finish of the
result. Tooling is a bit high but depending on
the number of pieces required annually there are
spline rolling houses that will take this job and
make it productive for you. Try Team Insustries in
Cambridge Minnesota, or Micromatic Textron in
Swannanoa NC. Many others too...
