LET ME TO INFORM ABOUT NEW MECHANICAL GEAR.(...plastic gear, CVT)
It is a new wave gear ( based on harmonic drive ).
With small sizes and weight it has single stage ratios from 1 to about 500.
Workload can be increases by 10 times and more.
For example, New Wave Gear with circumscribe diameter about 100 mm, about 60 mm longwise, steel flexspline and ratio 100 can have following load rates: max. output torque about 2500 Nm and static torque about 5500 Nm (and more).
That is why it is possible to manufacture toothed parts of plastic or composite material even for high power moment gears.
Other advantages of harmonic drive are inherited: high kinematics precision and small number of elements; lower requirements of production precision; durability and lower cost at commercial production; smoothness and noiselessness of rotation ...
No special equipment required.
It can be made variable.
Super compact package (or very powerful gear ) and simple design with alteration of gear ratio from 1 to endlessness (stop-operation) for friction / traction gear.
No any clutch devices required.
