To determine whether the hypiod can be cut further information is required

1/ No of teeth in gear and pinion
2/ Hand of spiral on gear
3/Offset
4/Face Width
5/Mounting distance of gear & pinion
6/ Pitch circle diameter of gear
7/ Pressure angle
Once this information is Known then you can you can work out if it is within limits.
